New Career Book Tackles IT Brain Drain

A new career guide Get A Better Career in Technology will be published in September 2009.

“Some women have managed it - against the odds. Now we want to show other women in IT how they can have a better career in technology,” says Sandra Powley, who heads the Triskell coach-mentoring practice. “Our aim is to provide a practical, easy to read, motivating and user friendly resource to help women survive and thrive in their technology careers.”

The book brings a unique blend of current context, awareness and practical strategies to help women develop a better, more sustainable and successful career in technology. Industry leaders, pioneers and champions provide excellent case studies, advice and role models.

In addition, UK technology pioneer, Dame Steve Shirley DBE, FRA, FRE, FRSA is contributing the foreword for the book, while an interview with one of the UK’s most successful leaders in the sector, Dame Wendy Hall DBE FREng FBCS is featured in the introduction.
